Reach currently offers a wide range of interesting volunteering opportunities throughout Scotland. These include one-off projects and regular commitments, some involving office hours and others involving time in the evenings or at weekends. We will match volunteers to the organisations that need their skills.
Contact your nearest regional manager, (see above) who will be delighted to talk to you about finding the right volunteering role in the region and help you give some time to a worthwhile cause, not too far from where you live.
Examples of successful Reach placements in Scotland
At the Maritime Rescue Institution (MRI) in Stonehaven, David Reid uses his
engineering skills acquired in the RAF as an Engineering Officer and as the Engineering Director of an airline. He now helps maintain the MRI's search and rescue lifeboats.
David also works with the Abbeyfield Trust assessing the standards of the homes and with Remap, which provides physical aids for disabled people.

Susan Vessey juggles the jobs of wife, mother and volunteer having spent most of her working life in human resources in investment banking.
Through Reach she became an Aftercare Advisor with the Prince’s Scottish Youth Business Trust assisting young people and offenders to finance their own businesses. She also worked as a representative for the Shannon Trust which assists in improving literacy levels amongst the prison population.
