about reach - Changemakers Project

Changemakers

Big Lottery LogoIn a significant new nationwide project, Reach is providing free consultancy to voluntary organisations tackling disadvantage and exclusion. We will work with organisations that face the following challenges:

Funded by the Big Lottery, this three-year project will expand Reach’s current activity of attracting volunteers with career skills and matching them with voluntary organisations which need them.

We will identify organisations that have the potential to benefit from this project. We will select them from the details they provide when they register with Reach for help in finding volunteers.

Regional Managers (Main menu > About Reach > Reach in Your Area) will approach the selected organisations in their area, discuss their challenges, and work to identify ways of addressing them. If, together, they agree on a project that fits one of the profiles listed above, the Regional Manager will recruit a volunteer Changemaker from Reach’s extensive database of high-calibre volunteers. This will be someone with the skill sets to direct the project and make the necessary changes.

The Changemaker is just that – a maker of change. He or she is not there primarily to undertake a consultancy role but to use the project to effect real beneficial change in the organisation. This may be achievable in a short period of time, or it may be preferable for the Changemaker to stay with the organisation for a longer period.
