REACH Online – Voluntary roles in UK

REACH matches the skills of experienced people to the needs of voluntary organisations.

We support voluntary organisations and charities across the UK, helping them attract volunteers with a wide range of skills and professional experience. We place people of all ages and backgrounds in organisations near where they live. There are no age limits and there is no charge for the service.

Do you have skills to share and time to offer? Go to volunteers.

About REACH

Aims

REACH’s aims are to recruit and support people with managerial, professional, business and technical experience and match them with part-time voluntary roles throughout the UK, and to help voluntary organisations gain access to these potential volunteers and benefit fully from their expertise.

Organisation

REACH has a small core of full-time staff and a much larger number of part-time volunteers who operate from the main office in London. There is also an extensive network of REACH volunteers who operate throughout the UK, supporting voluntary organisations and providing them with free consultancy as part of a Big Lottery funded programme. They can also provide local advice and guidance to voluntary organisations and potential volunteers.

REACH has grown considerably since then and now caters for a wide range of ages, skills and backgrounds. We have more than 4,000 opportunities on our database, and each year can expect to match some 1,500 volunteers with voluntary roles in at least 900 organisations. Through our unique service, we play a valuable role in strengthening the voluntary sector.

Who can use REACH

Any voluntary group offering benefit to the community can take advantage of the experience of our volunteers – it doesn’t have to be a charity, although many are. We are proud to support a cross-section of the UK voluntary sector, from large national charities to small grass-roots community groups.

More facts and figures

  • On any one day about 5,000 REACH volunteers are using their skills to benefit voluntary organisations.
  • REACH volunteers contribute some 28 million pounds’ worth of expertise a year to the organisations they join.
  • The REACH advice service helps and guides more than 7,000 volunteers and voluntary organisations in a year.

As the service we offer is free to both volunteers and voluntary organisations, and as demand for our services continues to increase rapidly, we do need to raise significant funds to enable us to maintain and develop our work.

Our main sources of support are the Big Lottery, various grant-making trusts and a number of corporate donors.

Real Money Casinos Supporting REACH

Following Big Lottery, many online gambling operators have decided to support REACH’s cause as a way of giving back to the community. Several real money casinos that operate their business in the UK contribute to our cause by donating a fixed amount of money for every new customer that opens an account.

We say this not only for the sake of transparency regarding our funding income, but also because if you are a fan of online gambling and believe REACH is fighting the right fight, you may become one of our supporters! Pick one of the numerous real money casino operators that have chosen to support us, open an account, make a deposit and start playing. The casino will donate a small amount of money directly to us when you do!

By doing so, aside from helping us directly, you are also giving yourself a chance to win real money, and in very decent amounts! Especially if you test your luck at players’ faves such as jackpot slots, you might be in for a life-changing winning. And you are changing our lives, too.
